My dog is coughing more than normal. It almost sounds like they're choking or going to vomit. Is this a major health concern?
If your dog is choking and sounding like it's going to vomit, that seems quite serious and would be something that you'd want to talk to your vet about.
There's a number of things that can cause that. It could be a heart condition or an infectious disease like kennel cough. It'll depend on the vaccination status of your dog. But go and get that checked out by your vet.
If there's any concern that there's a blockage in the airway, it needs to be seen straightaway.
