My 5 month old Staffy X is very lean. What can I do to help him put on weight healthily?
Right, so many dogs can be fussy with their food and it can be frustrating as a new puppy owner to try and find something that they like but it is really important.
There are some training tools that you could use, being persistent and small amounts often while they're hungry but they're keen to eat it - just until they develop a taste for the food.
But also, there may be some things that are stopping them eating, there may be some things that are upset in his tummy, they may have a sore mouth from teething and so these things need to be checked out by the vet if it persists.
The vet will be able to tell you if the puppy is in the right body condition, the right weight for its age and could recommend a food that might help.
All of the premium quality foods are fully balanced for everything that the puppy needs.
So if you can get him onto one of these diets that he does enjoy and can eat, that's going to be good for all of you.
