Is it ever necessary to get your cat's nails clipped? They are very sharp and it seems impossible to do it ourselves.

Cats nails are retractive and will go back into their toes and, the idea is that cats' nails should be sharp.

You can use cat scratching posts, and the cats will use them to keep their nails in good shape.

If you are concerned about your cat's nails at all, you can take it down to your local vet clinic and the nurse can have a look at trimming them for you.
